Apirl 2008: Bluebell Walk

A huge thank you to John and Juliet Cook for opening up their Bluebell Wood to the public during May. The Bluebells did not disappoint on a fantastic weekend raising funds for the band. Thank you to all those who gave up their time to help run the event.

 

April 2008: Charity Concert in Aid of Julia's House Children's Hospice

Mark Fletcher presenting a cheque for £500 to Julia's House HospiceRegent Centre Concert: After the hugely successful Charity concert at the Regent Centre, in aid of Julia’s House Children’s Hospice, Mark Fletcher the bands chairman presented a cheque for £500 to the head of fundraising for the Charity.  The band thoroughly enjoyed playing at the venue for the first time and is looking forward to hopefully playing there again in the near future. 

January 2008: News Update

The band would like to welcome back Peter Wise who will be taking the Band to the 2008 West of England Area Contest on 9th March 2008. The test piece is Festival Music by Eric Ball. The band are very much looking forward to working with Peter during this time. 

October 2007: A Trip to the National Finals

Having made the long trip to Harrogate for the National Finals, with unplanned stop on the M1 and M62, We arrived at 18.30 for our first rehearsal in Brighouse. The Band excelled and were sounding good.

September 2007: News Update

Following on from our success in Torquay in March 2007, we are off to Harrogate this weekend (28th - 30th September 2007) to compete in the 1st Section National Final Championships - a full write up will follow after the event. Paul Griffiths has taken on the position of Principal Euphonium. We are glad to see him back to continue the success with achieved with Paul in the past. We would also like to wish Jen Ings good luck as she is leaving to go to university in Birmingham.
