The band would like to extend a special thank you to the new players who contested with us on Saturday 11 May 2002 in Blackpool. Following the recent performance at The Senior Trophy in Blackpool, the band were delighted to present the Musical Director, Mr Peter Wise with a commemorative baton and case as a token of our gratitude and respect for his hard work over the last 10 years.
We are very pleased to announce that our Musical Director Mr Peter Wise has recently completed 10 years service with the band. He raised his baton for the first time in rehearsal on 10th April 1992 . Mr Wise took us to his first contest with the band at Weston Super Mare on May 10th 1992 and the band achieved first place in the 3rd Section. Since that day the band has gone from strength to strength, achieving a place in the championship section in 2000. So a special thank you to Mr Wise and here's to the next 10 years.
Following a very successful concert at St Peter and St Paul Church in Ringwood on Saturday 23 February 2002 , The band is delighted to announce the final total donated to St Paul 's Church, Bisterne renovation fund as £842.50.The concert was very well attended with numbers in excess of 200. Many of our Vice Presidents and loyal supporters were also present and hopefully enjoyed the varied program of music. The band looks forward to future collaborations with our local churches and hope that everyone who attended the concert enjoyed listening as much as we enjoyed playing.
It is with great regret that the band announces the retirement of Alan Hughes our Bass Trombone player. Alan will be leaving us after the Area Qualifiers on 6 April 2002. He has been a long and loyal member of the band often traveling long distances on a regular basis to attend rehearsals. We would like to take this opportunity to thank him for his dedication and commitment and wish him a long and happy retirement.
