Germany Trip - June 2018
From Pete Jung:
Hyde Band will be travelling to Germany in June 2018 for a short tour to the small town of Braunfels which is where my father was born. My family have spent many a happy holidays there when I was a kid. It's a beautiful, old medieval town with a turreted castle and cobbled streets. We hope to play with a local choir in a Friday evening concert and then play at the annual wine festival on the Saturday and Sunday.
Here's the wikipedia page of the town: Braunfels Wikipedia page
I am going over to Germany on 20/11/17 to meet up with the Chorwerkstatt Wetzlar Choir with the aim of organising a joint concert on Friday 22nd June in their home town. They are a newly formed choir and strongly believe that singing together creates a better community. This is the link to their website.
Music certainly unites us all! I will also be meeting with the organisers of the Braunfels wine festival which is where the band will be playing on the following Sat & Sun (hangovers becoming increasingly worse!!) During my very brief visit I will also be arranging the important things like where we will be eating (and drinking!) in the evenings - I hope that we will get to enjoy some traditional German fayre and Pilsner of course!! I will hopefully soon have the the logistical stuff sorted and will update further with an itinerary of our visit!
That's all for now - but more to follow! Pete.
