Once again the Bluebell Woods in Gorley were opened this weekend. Both days were beautiful and sunny, there was tea, coffee, cakes, tractor rides, free parking and of course the beautiful bluebells! There was also a nature trail to keep the children busy.
We had more visitors than ever before and rasied a whopping £825 for Hyde Band over the two days. Thank you to each and every one of you who came along, we couldn't have done it without you!
We should extend our special thanks to John & Juliet Cook for once again allowing the event to take place and secondly for all the hard work that they put in, running the refreshments and driving the tractor, all of which contributed to making the event such a huge success.
Don't forget to come and see us next year! Checkout the facebook page in April/May to see when we are opening.
Hyde Band are delighted to be performing at the Milford on Sea community Centre.
The concert will contain a variety of music from marches, show tunes, film music, jazz and orchestral pieces, providing entertainment for all.
A good quality raffle of which the proceeds will be going to Oakhaven Hospice
Tickets are £10 and can be purchased from Steve - 07889193656 or the Milford on Sea community centre box office
Solo Cornet forms a Duet!
Sadie Jacklin, one of Hyde Band's front-row cornet players, got married to Elliot on 21st July, forming the perfect duet. It was a terrific day, and members of the band joined the brass band playing at the wedding (which was conducted by Sadie's Dad!). Sadie looked poised and beautiful throughout the day as can be seen from the photos below - Elliot is a lucky man! Hopefully in the future their duo may become a trio or a quartet?
The whole of the the band would like to wish Sadie and Elliot the very best wishes for the future, and we look forward to welcoming her back into the bandroom after the honeymoon!
The band has a Facebook page - please visit and say something nice!
