On the Monday 7 April 2003 our Principal Euphonium player, Andy Yule, left us for a new life in Sydney, Australia. We would like to take this opportunity to thank him for his services to the band and to tell him that he will be sadly missed by all. We wish and his family all the very best in Oz.

On Friday the 14 March 2003 the Hyde and Wilton Training Band entered the Salisbury Music Festival. They played "Ceramic City Festival" a very challenging contest piece for youngsters. They were rewarded with Honours and 1st Place.
The band held another a very successful concert at St Peter & St Paul Church in Ringwood on Saturday 18 February 2003 . This is the second time the band have performed in concert in the church since 23 Feb 2002 and we are delighted to announce the final profits after expenses in excess of £700.00. The musical director was complemented many times on his choice of programme. The band have also had several letters from members of the audience reiterating the fact that the programme, which included Salute to Sinatra, Procession to the Minster, Irish Blessing & Jubilee Overture, was extremely popular.
Hyde Band would like to express their deepest sympathies to the family of Charlie Tanner who passed away suddenly at home on 12 December 2002 . Charlie was a loyal supporter of Hyde Band and we will miss him greatly.
After participating in the Annual Winter WBBA Contest at the newly refurbished Arts Centre in Poole, now known as "The Lighthouse", The band are pleased to inform you of our latest achievements. With a total of six bands participating in the championship section the band played well and were awarded 2nd place. There was also a prize for another member of our ranks. Mark Fletcher our principal horn player was awarded the position of "Best Instrumentalist"
