October 2002: Sandy Balls Holiday Centre

Hyde Band is pleased to announce a new agreement with Sandy Balls Holiday Centre. This will cover the year of 2003, with a series of ten concerts throughout the year, Including a Christmas Eve Carol Concert. Hyde Band and Sandy Balls Holiday Centre have been associated with each other for approximately 25 years. During the last ten years Hyde Band have progressed from the 4th Section in the National Rankings right through to the Championship Section.

September 2002: New Band CD

The band has been fortunate enough to secure the necessary funding to produce a CD. Dates are still to be fixed, but we anticipate this to be in the very near future. New Forest District Council have recently donated £2000 to the band to enable us to purchase instruments for the training band. We would like to take this opportunity to thank NFDC for their generosity. Watch this space for photo's of the new instruments.

May 2002: The Senior Trophy, Blackpool

The band would like to extend a special thank you to the new players who contested with us on Saturday 11 May 2002 in Blackpool.  Following the recent performance at The Senior Trophy in Blackpool, the band were delighted to present the Musical Director, Mr Peter Wise with a commemorative baton and case as a token of our gratitude and respect for his hard work over the last 10 years.

 

April 2002: Peter Wise

We are very pleased to announce that our Musical Director Mr Peter Wise has recently completed 10 years service with the band. He raised his baton for the first time in rehearsal on 10th April 1992 . Mr Wise took us to his first contest with the band at Weston Super Mare on May 10th 1992 and the band achieved first place in the 3rd Section. Since that day the band has gone from strength to strength, achieving a place in the championship section in 2000. So a special thank you to Mr Wise and here's to the next 10 years.

 

March 2002: St Peter and St Paul Church Concert

Following a very successful concert at St Peter and St Paul Church in Ringwood on Saturday 23 February 2002 , The band is delighted to announce the final total donated to St Paul 's Church, Bisterne renovation fund as £842.50.The concert was very well attended with numbers in excess of 200. Many of our Vice Presidents and loyal supporters were also present and hopefully enjoyed the varied program of music. The band looks forward to future collaborations with our local churches and hope that everyone who attended the concert enjoyed listening as much as we enjoyed playing.
